1. A peasant maiden from Lielvārde [Lennewarden] in festive dress. On her uncovered braided hair a red broadcloth ribbon, edged with glass bugle beads of various colours. Around her neck is the same kind of ribbon, from which hang Swedish coins, and upon it, above the white shirt, one large and one small silver brooch. The linen neckerchief is edged with drawn-thread embroidery, and over it a white woollen shoulder shawl embroidered with wool yarns of various colours and finished with matching fringes.
