The reference in the Finno-Ugric collection of the Estonian National Museum is Udmurdi mehed Gondõrevost (Gondyrgurt), ERM Fk 447:94.Based on handwritten notes preserved on the reverse of photographs from the same series, and on comparison with historical settlement records, this souvenir studio photograph most likely depicts Udmurt men from Medvedevo (Gondyrevo / Гондырево), a village in Sarapulsky Uyezd of the Vyatka Governorate, Russian Empire. The photograph was probably produced in the late 19th century for commercial or ethnographic circulation. The exact photographer and studio remain unknown.
