ERMi teaduri Indrek Jäätsi film räägib etnilisest identiteedist, assimileerumisest ja rahvuspoliitikast tänapäeva Venemaal ühe soome-ugri rahva näitel. Permikomidest kõnelev film võeti üles 2008. aasta septembris Venemaal Permi krais Permikomi ringkonnas – peamiselt selle pealinnas Kudõmkaris ning lähikonna külades. Intervjuude ja argielustseenide kaudu dokumenteerib film praegust majanduslikku ja kultuurilist olukorda permikomide asualal, mis kuulub Venemaa Euroopa-osa vaeseimate piirkondade hulka.
