This dataset contains structured metadata for sound recordings curated within the Open Music Observatory. It provides descriptive and identifier-based information on recordings, releases, and artists, including titles, artist names, release metadata, and international identifiers such as ISRCs. The dataset is designed as a lightweight, reusable representation of recording-level metadata, independent of language or regional scope. Variables follow a shared data model used across multiple Open Music Observatory datasets and are suitable for exploratory analysis, metadata repair, and integration into larger music data pipelines. The first version of the dataset contains 343,900 observations across 18 variables and is provided in CSV format. As an initial release, it contains missing values and reflects the current state of ongoing metadata harmonization and repair. Subsequent versions are expected to reduce missingness and expand coverage by incorporating additional observations and refinements. Detailed variable definitions, identifier interpretation rules, and modeling decisions are documented separately in a versioned data documentation record.
